FAQs for Temporary Suspension of IPPT/IPT/RT

Q1.     Why are IPPT/IPT/RT temporarily suspended? Why is the suspension only in Feb?

The SAF takes the health and fitness of our NSmen seriously. This temporary suspension of FCCs, IPPT@SAFRA and IPT-in-the-Park is a precautionary measure following the shift to DORSCON Orange, while measures are being reviewed to ensure a safe environment for our NSmen.

Q2.     If my birthday window ends within the suspension period of 8 to 29 Feb, will i be considered to have defaulted IPPT and be required to enrol in RT?

In light of extenuating circumstances, NSmen whose birthday window are affected by the suspension of FCCs from 8 Feb to 29 Feb will be granted a one-time waiver of your annual IPPT requirement for your last birthday window.

Q3.    Will the temporary suspension be extended beyond 29 Feb? Why is the temporary suspension no extended until the COVID-19 situation stabilises?

The temporary suspension is a precautionary measure following the shift to DORSCON Orange. We will review our measures regularly to ensure the safety of our NSmen. The temporary suspension may be extended beyond 29 Feb if necessary. Announcements will be made on NS.sg should there be any extension or lifting of temporary suspension

Q4.   Since IPPTs are temporarily not conducted at FCCs and IPPT@SAFRA because of DORSCON Orange, why is IPPT still being conducted during ICT?

The SAF takes the health and fitness of our NSmen seriously. We have temporarily suspended the operations for FCCs and other locations that receive high footfall solely for the conduct of IPPT/IPT/RT, so that we can review and implement additional measures at these locations for our NSmen's safety. This is why IPPT/IPT/RT at these locations have been temporarily suspended.
