Claim Options

You can submit your Make-Up Pay claim via Manage NSmen Payments on the NS Portal, where you can select 1 of the following 3 claim options that suits you best. More info on each option can be found in their respective pages.

• Income Tax option: Based on the trade income in your Income Tax Notice of Assessment (NOA) for the year of your Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS) activity
• Average Income option: Based on the net self-employment income paid in the 6 months preceding your ORNS activity
• Replacement option: Based on the fees paid to stand-in doctors or bus and transport drivers engaged to cover your duties for the duration of your ORNS activity

You can also download and complete the hardcopies of the Make-Up Pay claim form(s), and fax (6373 1477) or e-mail (pay@ns.sg) the completed forms with supporting documents to the NSmen Payments Centre (NPC).

Once you have selected a Make-Up Pay claim option and submitted your claim for your ORNS activity, you will be unable to change your selection. A new Make-Up Pay claim must be submitted for every new ORNS activity you attend. You will also need to re-select an option for each new claim.
