e-PREP provides credits for Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) to use in a wide range of refresher and/or skills development courses, to facilitate their transition from full-time National Service (NS) to further studies or into the workforce.
You are eligible for e-PREP in the last 12 months of full-time NS, and will continue to be eligible for e-PREP up to one year after your Operationally Ready Date (ORD). You will receive a letter when you become eligible for e-PREP.
Credit Allocation and Usage
Eligible NSFs will be allocated $350 e-PREP credits. The credits cannot be converted to cash, and any unused credits will be forfeited at the end of eligibility period.
MINDEF will subsidise the course fees up to the limit of 350 credits. While there are no restrictions on the number of e-PREP courses you can sign up for, you will have to bear the balance of the cost once your credits have been fully utilised.
If you choose to sign up for a course at $250, you can use your credits to pay for the full cost of the course. You will then be left with $100 e-PREP credits. Subsequently, if you decide to take another course at $200, you can utilise your remaining $100 e-PREP credits. You will then have to bear the remaining balance of $100.
A wide range of more than 4,000 online and classroom courses are offered by local educational institutes and e-learning vendors. They are grouped into three broad categories.
- Selected SkillsFuture Series Courses
Courses that focus on emerging priority skills such as data analytics and cyber security.
- Preparatory / Refresher Courses
Courses that focus on refreshing knowledge prior to pursuing further studies.
- Professional Development Courses
Courses that focus on professional development skills relevant to the workforce and future economy.
