From 1 Apr 2016, NSmen will be eligible for the National Service Excellence Award (NSEA) if they (i) are recipients of Awards (e.g. National Day Award recipients; SAF NSmen of the Year) or (ii) have performed well during their in-camp training (ICT) or NS courses. The NSEA is to recognise their good performance during their Operationally-Ready National Service training. NSEA recipients will be accorded at least $100 worth of credits, which can be redeemed for vouchers for both their families and their own enjoyment.
Eligible MINDEF/SAF NSmen will receive a congratulatory letter as well as a text notification (via SMS only - not via WhatsApp or social media channels) from MINDEF to inform them of their eligibility and the redemption process. Eligible NSmen who receive such SMS notifications are not to forward the message to others as those who are ineligible will not be able to redeem the NSEA even if the forms are submitted.
From 1 Sep 2019, redemption services has been transferred to a government platform called FormSG (URL will start with go.gov.sg). MINDEF/SAF recipients (including existing recipients with unredeemed credits) will be prompted to login via SingPass when they access the form to redeem their credits.
